Phillips is the marine pilot and takes the responsibility of carrying a container shit from Port Slalah to Mombasa, Kenya from the route of Gulf of Aden. This route is famous for the pirates at off coast in Horn of Africa. His first officer is Shane Murphy and they both take strict Actions and practice from the crew members for security.
In spite of their practice and mock drills, two Somali pirate skiffs starts chasing them in the sea. Phillips shows that he is calling Warship for their help as he know that the pirates have stolen his radio frequency and are listening to him. They go back and come again the next day with greater force. One of the pirate skiff becomes successful in hooking the ladder to Phillip’s ship and four pirates gets onboard. Phillips ask all crew members to hide inside the engine room and gives the locker keys to the pirates.
