The protagonist of the Crime Thriller "Harsh Times" — a former soldier Jim Davis returned to Los Angeles after the War in Afghanistan. Like most who have returned from the War alive, the War has left an indelible imprint on the psyche of Jim. He tries to get a job in the police, as well as his childhood friend Mike Alonzo tries to find a decent job. Friends are sent every day in search of work, that end up drinking beer, and once he and nasty infighting with criminal gangs.
